Almost 10 Weeks Old!

Austin will be 10 weeks old tomorrow- I can't believe it! We went last Thursday back to the doctor for his 2 month visit and several vaccinations. He did great- much better than mom was with her fear of needles! He cried a few seconds when they stuck him and that was it- no fussiness or anything the rest of the day and that night, just a lot of sleeping. John and I couldn't believe it- I guess I was expecting the worst.....Austin weighed in at almost 15 pounds and was 25 1/2 inches long! He was in the 95th percentile for his age in both- what a chunky boy!!

We have been getting out and doing lots more things with Austin these days- except it is just SO hot here in Florida! Sunday we did take him out to the beach early for a nice breakfast and he did great- he slept most of our meal. We are getting ready this week for our first big trip with him for labor day weekend next week to see my parents in New Orleans....John, Austin and I along with my sister will be making the 1 1/2 hour flight and we are very interested to see how this goes! Austin can't wait to see his Grammy and Grampy again and meet everyone at home!

A Great Weekend Visiting with Friends.....

Our friends Cali, Jim, and their son Luke came in town from Louisiana this weekend. Friday Cali came by with our friend Stefanie to meet Austin for the first time, and Saturday we all got together at the Pardo's house for a cookout. Austin did great for the day and everyone just passed him around and snuggled him! It was great seeing everyone and hanging out again- we miss you in Florida Cali and Jim!!!

Austin seems to be changing every week these days....he has now found his hands and is really trying to get that thumb in his mouth!




Austin has also started grabbing on to things and has a really good little grip- here I am with my football!

What a Happy Boy!!!

Austin is getting so good at holding his head up during tummy time and especially when you hold him over your shoulder. He just holds his head up and is looking all around over you shoulder. He loves looking out the window and we have a couple large colorful art prints on the walls that he seems to be mezmerized by!

My new favorite pastime is sleeping in my little swing. The other day john and I caught him just snoring away in the thing.....!

Austin is 6 weeks old (we can't believe it!) and getting bigger each day now it seems! He is becoming very aware now of sights and sounds. He seems to love listening to music- it really gets him groovin! He is also trying really hard to find that thumb of his, and doing really well at picking up his head during tummy time. For the past few days we have been trying to work on extending his night time sleeping periods. Our doctor said he is plenty big enough to be on his way to sleeping through the night and he seemed to be moving backwards with shorter time periods there for a couple of days. This is not the most fun part John and I are realizing, so we welcome any suggestions!! Enjoy some of our latest pics below.....

Austin now has a new toy.......Thanks Grammy and Grampy for Austin's new swing! We just received it yesterday and he loves this thing. After John and I put it together, we put Austin in it to try it out and he was asleep within about, oh.... 2 minutes! After a quick nap, he really was into staring at the mobile above him and listening to the music it plays. We love it- thank you!!

1 Month Old!!

Baby Austin is 1 month old today. Alyson & I can't believe it! He had his 1 month checkup yesterday & everything looks good. He did great getting his first shot & is now weighing in at 10 lbs 13 oz, and 23 inches long. He's gained a little over 2 lbs & 2 inches the first month. Thanks again to my parents & the Blums for everything you did while visiting & helping us out this 1st month. We love you. Here are some pictures of the little fella from the last week.

Austin's grandparents have been visiting....

John's parents, George and Carolyn, came down from Georgia to meet Austin over this past week. You can tell by the pictures below, Austin loved snuggling with his granddad and grandmother! While they were here they took walks with Bailey and Austin to the park to chase squirrels, helped us out with lots of chores around the house, and made us lots of delicious dinners. We appreciate all of their help and we are so grateful to them for everything they do for us!!
